the artist

Dimitrios Kleanthous is a contemporary Greek photographer based in Athens, Greece working across fashion, staged photography, and fine art. He completed studies of Photography and History of Art in Vakalo Art & Design College and took classes of «Modern Art & Ideas» in MoMA New York. His practice is defined by a strong emphasis on composition, geometry, minimalism, and color, exploring the relationship between the human body and its environment.

Drawing influences from painting and contemporary visual culture, the artist creates carefully constructed images that blur the boundaries between fashion imagery and conceptual photography. Fashion functions in his work as a narrative and expressive tool rather than a purely commercial medium.

His projects often engage with broader social and cultural themes. Notable works include large-scale portrait series with social focus, such as projects centered on female identity and collective presence, as well as fashion narratives developed during the COVID-19 period, reflecting on change, adaptability, and visual communication in times of uncertainty. He has also explored aerial and top-view perspectives, using space and form to build abstract yet human-centered compositions.

Dimitrios Kleanthous approaches photography as both a mirror of personal perception and a window into contemporary visual storytelling, contributing a distinct voice to the modern photographic landscape.
